Raleigh Daycare Abuse Settlement Result

The lawsuit arose out of an incident that occurred in September 2021 when our minor client (then 18 months old) was hit, pinched, and verbally abused by a teacher at a daycare. The daycare voluntarily disclosed some of the abuse suffered by our client, but our client’s mother received a phone call from another parent who indicated that the teacher had done far more and worse than the school disclosed.

Tragically, this incident occurred only months after a prior instance of abuse at the daycare. The child care facility had been warned and received citations on several occasions prior the incident for failing to train its staff. However, it appeared that the daycare did little retrain its teachers and staff after the prior abuse incident in order to prevent further abuse from occurring at the daycare.
